A few words about
What We Do
Our projects
Wider Vision Foundation works to expand educational opportunities for children from disadvantaged families in Varanasi.
we combine access to education with creative learning, teacher development and support for children’s wider personal and social development.
EDUCATION & CHILD DEVELOPMENT
Naveen Nursery & Primary School provides children from disadvantaged families with access to education in a safe and supportive learning environment. Alongside core subjects such as English and mathematics, the school encourages curiosity, confidence, creativity and social development. Children who need additional help are given extra learning support and time to strengthen their understanding.
CREATIVE LEARNING
Creative learning has long been part of the school’s approach. Art, storytelling, environmental learning, music and practical activities give children opportunities to explore new ideas, express themselves and learn through experience. Workshops have included collaborative art projects, creative problem-solving and activities encouraging teamwork, respect, friendship and curiosity about the wider world
TEACHER DEVELOPMENT
We recognise that quality education depends on supported and capable teachers. Naveen School has organised teacher-development workshops on creative teaching methods, experiential learning, storytelling, child behaviour and classroom problem-solving. These opportunities help teachers develop practical approaches that respond to children’s different ways of learning
FAMILY & COMMUNITY SUPPORT
Our commitment to children extends beyond academic learning. Wider Vision Foundation recognises that a child’s wellbeing and opportunities are closely connected to their family and circumstances. We provide targeted support to vulnerable children and families in times of need. During the COVID-19 pandemic, this included food assistance to families facing hardship. Through this support, we aim to strengthen the environment in which children can continue to learn, grow and thrive.
